There are a huge number of ways in which to tile a room. The type of tiles and the way the tiles are used can dictate the appearance of a room. To be able to decide how to proceed, it is important to first make a plan of the room. Then you can begin to think about the colour scheme and the style you want the room to have. Once you have chosen your colour scheme and style, you can then select a suitable range of tiles. The appearance of the room will be dictated by the way in which you arrange these. They create a different look, for example, if you lay them horizontally rather than vertically. Unglazed floor tiles
The colour of ceramic, unglazed floor tiles is contained in the thick top layer of the tile. This sort of floor tile is very scratch-resistant and hard-wearing. It is suitable for all kinds of spaces, both indoor and outdoor, thanks to the unique Ultragres process created by Mosa. This process doubles the strength of unglazed tiles, makes them resistant to frost and staining, and ensures they are easy to maintain.

Glazed floor tiles
Glazed floor tiles include a layer of ceramic glass making them user-friendly, hard-wearing, frost-resistant and suitable for most indoor rooms. Glazed bathroom floor tiles are ideally suited to rooms that don’t get too much human traffic, such as the bathroom, toilet or bedroom. Non-slip floor tiles Our range of unglazed floor tiles includes a special type with a non-slip surface. These tiles prevent you from slipping on a wet surface. Non-slip tiles require a little more attention when you clean them, but they are nevertheless extremely low maintenance.

Tiles with integrated LED lighting
The combination of this new lighting technique with tiles in the Linea LED and Terra LED series means that in one operation walls and floors can be tiled – including lighting – without the need to install light fittings or lay cables or create channels. A cable leads from each tile to a connection point. LED tiles are even suitable for wet rooms, provided that the electrical installation complies with NEN 1010.

Grout

It is not only the colour of the tiles that determines the appearance of a room, but also the colour of the grout. In choosing the colour of the grout, the colour of the tile is the starting point. For example, light-coloured wall tiles need off-white grout. For light-coloured floor tiles, however, we would recommend a grey grout since a floor becomes dirty more quickly. Anyone looking to create an aesthetic whole should match the colour of the grout with the colour of the tile.

Difference in colour

Mosa always uses natural materials. This means that for each production cycle the tiles may be of a slightly different shade. In the case of tiles from one batch, any differences in colour will be negligible. The structure of tiles can also change slightly between one production cycle and another. Some tile ranges deliberately have variations in colour and structure in order to emphasise their natural or rustic character. In either case, it is essential for you to ensure that the tiles you choose all have the same tint number.
