Slip-resistance
To minimise the risk of slipping as much as possible, Mosa has developed special floor tiles with different surfaces for different applications. The slip-resistance value (with shoes) of a tile is indicated by an R value. This R value is divided into five groups, related to the risk of slipping. The higher the R-value the lower the risk of slipping.
The barefoot slip-resistance is expressed in the A,B,C-value, where A stands for the lowest slip-resistance value.
Article number
Every Mosa article has a unique 11-figure number. The first five numbers represent the colour code, the next two the type code and the last four the size code.
(please note that the article number of some floor tiles consists of 3 numbers)
Price group
Mosa provides a price group for the professional market that represents a particular indicative price for projects. This price group begins with a U (= Uni; prices per m2) or with a D (= Decor, prices per piece).
Prefered suppliers

Ultragres
Porcelain tiles made using Mosa's Ultragres process have high resistance to wear and the best possible scratch resistance. The tiles are therefore guaranteed for a long life and a scratch-free floor, even when exposed to a heavy mechanical or chemical load. They have very low absorbency, which gives them absolute resistance to pollution. This also makes them very easy to clean and maintain. For specific information see our
collection overview.
Water absorption
By water absorption we mean the percentage increase in weight of tiles that are fully saturated with water compared with dry tiles (Norm EN 99). The European Commission for Normalisation will make a rectification to Norm NEN-EN 176 NI with respect to water absorption. The maximum permitted percentage will be fixed at <0.5%. Unglazed Mosa tiles more than satisfy this new requirement. See also the section
